I don't
(well, more like they don't) One of my ideas to help get myself out there and get some possible bookings is to have a stall at a wedding fair. I was feeling strong, positive and proactive after another bad day at work. I contacted venues where they took place (showing my true novice self) which they politely sent me in the direction of the organisers. The organisers, well lets just say they are very disappointing. I've always known this industry was tough but their attempt of not so subtly saying we have the same people and we like to stick together was frustrating. I pride myself on quality and offering something a little bit different. I wouldn't even be stepping on anyones toes, but photographers can be really territorial. SO I've decided, I don't need these events. I can see myself eye rolling at other photographer's cheesy photos and selective colour anyway. I'm going to organise my own. Handpick local and very, very talented people.
